As a strategic partner with Walpole, the official sector body for UK luxury, Pureprint are delighted to have printed the Walpole Book of British Luxury for the third year in a row.
On 1st September we celebrated its launch with Walpole and many of its members, gathering together to recognise the success of British luxury brands, big and small, through what has been a challenging year for so many. The launch night was held as London’s brand-new luxury five-star hotel ‘The Londoner’ in Leicester Square. Special guests included people from some of the UK’s leading luxury brands, including The Royal Opera House, Iconic Luxury Hotels, Investec, Tiffany & Co and Fortnum and Mason.
This beautiful 2021 book has the cover design by Sabina Savage, the masters of premium paper G . F Smith, and, of course, Pureprint as the printer of luxury communications. We created a 168-page casebound and softback version of the book, both with a shear coat and gold foiling and thread sewn on for the casebound edition.
This year’s theme is ‘Through adversity to the stars’, showcasing British luxury has proved its remarkable resilience once again. With the dawn of a new post-pandemic era, the 2021-22 Walpole Yearbook takes a look at luxury’s next boom, with essays from Esquire’s Alex Bilmes, ELLE UK’s Farrah Storr, The Economist’s Tom Sandage, Sasha Slater from The Telegraph and other leading luxury commentators.
Helen Brocklebank, CEO of Walpole, spoke of Pureprint “A great British company ticking all the boxes of innovation, craftmanship, quality and sustainability. Walpole is delighted to once again be working with Pureprint as our partner on the Book of British Luxury. Pureprint is the gold standard for luxury printing, combining not only the visible essentials of quality and beauty, but also the invisible with its commitment to sustainability and carbon neutrality.”
Walpole is the official body for British luxury, representing 270 of Britain’s finest brands from Alexander McQueen to Wedgwood. Walpole promotes, protects and develops British luxury, a sector worth £48 billion to the UK economy and celebrates extraordinary creativity, design, innovation, talent and craftmanship that makes it a global calling card for Britain.
You can watch a short film here, created by Allied Content, which takes a look at the book’s key contributors, including Sabina Savage; Nous; G . F Smith and Pureprint.
We hope Walpole members enjoy perusing this wonderfully compiled, designed and produced luxury publication.
